about

Originally this song was titled "Tatton Hurman is a Fucking Dead Man". I always imagined him to be the "mayor" of the Gasoline Coast and this song is a plot to kill him.
Later it became a song about not liking ones parents. The shame.

lyrics

Nobody likes their parents
Nobody likes their parents
Nobody likes their parents
So hide under the stairs

Watch the dials and the gauges on the stairway to the
Furnace room
There’s a boiler in the back distilling liquids that will
Make you swoon
Someone’s walking in the attic and the cornhusks in the larder
Tell of coming doom
Keep a pistol loaded waiting in the
Dinning Room

I’ve been sitting waiting softly like a vapor in the
Pouring rain
Watch the buildings and the corners and doorways and the
Lights go off and on again
Knocking hourly from the closet in the attic is a
Knuckle bone
Is it mine or is it yours I can remember anything
Anymore
