about

I spent a summer in the French countryside taking care of a bunch of dogs. Zorro was a giant Bernese/Bouvier mix. He passed away from cancer a few months after I got home. He was a great dog and a great friend.

lyrics

You were my best friend that summer
Always so close when I called
And though I'm not sure you'd remember me now
I like to imagine you did

I'd take you out swimming with Tarzan
And D'Artagnan brought up the rear
I dreamed that we'd sail down some river in France
But like most things I dream few get did

You were such a good boy, such a sweet boy
We kept all your pictures and things
And I know that I'll never see you again
I hope that they buried you well
